Give yourself value and respect, then expects from others, lets rate your self esteem.

What is self-esteem, simply you can say that the value and respect you have for yourself is self-esteem? Now, let's know about your self-esteem by its symptoms.


Positive self-esteem: If you have positive self-esteem about yourself then, you will feel good about,

  • You feel good about, how you are.
  • You are proud of your capabilities.
  • For some things you are good enough and some needs improvement.
  • You own your acts and sayings, either good or bad.
  • You accept both success and failures.
  • Can do approach to work tasks.
Remember, remind yourself every day that you are a good person and develop a positive self-image of yourself.


Low or poor self-esteem; If you have low or poor self-esteem then your feelings will be,



  • I cant do anything right.
  • I am ugly.
  • I do not have good friends.
  • My mistakes really upset me.
  • I am not so smart, pretty and nice as my friends or family members.
  • It's difficult for me to make friends.
  • If someone praises me, I get upset.
  • I feel, sometimes, better when I say mean things to other.
Now, analyse these feelings and rate your self-esteem, you may not ideally fall absolutely in any category, however, the feelings category, most of the points match you, rate yourself accordingly.


How to boost self-esteem

If you have poor self-esteem, then try out these ten tips regularly and shift your mindset from poor self-esteem to healthy self-esteem.

  • What are your strengths, what you can do good and enjoy the most? Concentrate on your strengths.
  • Push yourself to try things, you have never tried before. Give yourself simple assignments. Like if you are not participative in the classroom, starts participating. Similarly, starts try new social activities or anything positive you wish.
  • For any assigned task either at school or at home, try your level best for the best accomplishment. Be proud of your efforts irrespective of the outcome.
  • Ask very openly for any help you require form your family members, teachers and friends. Do not hide your queries, Be sure you will get help and solutions.
  • Join a group of similar conditions like yourself, observe them how they cope with the conditions, like diseases, failures and make positive social contacts with them. talk to them and listen from them.
  • Volunteer to do some tasks at your school, home and community you live in.
  • Take control of your life. Do not delay school assignments or any other tasks. try to follow your schedule strictly make it a habit.
  • Do not hesitate in asking any help or about any of your need.
  • Feel good about your look.
  • You may also take help from your health counsellor.
